Garmin GPS Antenna Kit April 25, 2010 T. May When I moved my Garmin Nuvi 760 from my Ford Explorer to my new Toyoia Highlander I started having reception problems. The Garnim 010-10702-00 GPS Antenna Kit immeadiately solved this problem. The negative is I run the wire throught the door seal and put the magnetic antenna on the roof which is not a very elegant but the antenna works great.
Garmin GPS Antenna April 11, 2010 Don R. Russell (Nashville, TN) GARMIN 010-10702-00 GPS Antenna Kit.....Our car has a dealer applied special window coating on the windshield that made satellite contact difficult. This outside magnet antenna helped get around the difficulty but the external antenna is one more wire to fool with. Would prefer that I not have chosen the optional window coating on the new car had i known that it could create a GPS satellite problem. Garmin website points out this possible problem ..... The pin broke off the first time but the new one works great! April 7, 2010 M. Hindin My Garmin GPS was not getting a good signal and would take 7-14 minutes to load! I knew I had to do something so I paid forty dollars for this booster. Now the price is half that so it is a very good deal to get now. Anyway I opened up the box and went to put the little golden pin on the end of the booster into the GPS. This little golden pin is very thin, the smallest pin I have ever seen! Since it is so small it is extremely weak the thin little pin broke right off as I was sticking it in my GPS. I could not believe it! How could this happen! I did not even get to use this product!
Garmin sent me a new one, they were VERY good at getting back to me and getting this replaced within a few emails back and forth. The product works GREAT and makes the single come in and load the maps very fast. Just be VERY careful of the thin little pin!
No emperical evidence it helps April 2, 2010 thefirstwml I purchased this device to boost the signal of my Garmin 885T. Unfortunately, I still lost satellite signal when I placed it at the top of my window, and even with this device placed on top of my car. So, I don't know if it is either broken or so weak it doesn't really boost the signal.
Fragile Connector February 11, 2010 Dallasite (Dallas, TX) The connector is hard to insert and remove. Mine "broke" the first time I had to remove it. The connector actually came apart, and the little wire inside bent. When I tried to bend it back, it just broke off. I tend to be ultra careful with things as well. Perhaps mine was defective to begin with, but if you get this unit, be ultra careful with that connector!
