With 115 megabytes of internal memory, this small-but-powerful GPS navigator has plenty of built-in map storage. 5 out of 5 stars Perfect!   February 5, 2009

This GPS is the best device I have on my motorcycle. Is light weight, backlight, doesn't have to be connected to the bike, battery life is great!... I mean... almost the whole day working (depending on the light function)... and is rain resistant!

Yes... the screen is little, but is all that I need. And when I am off the bike, I just took it with me in seconds...

Great GPS!

5 out of 5 stars Garmin Quest   January 29, 2009

This recent purchase, Garmin Quest is the second Quest unit I have purchased. The Garmin Quest GPS is very easy to use and has a lot of options for creating more than one route. My only wish is that it would hold more than 115K of information. On some of our trips we can't quite download all the maps that I would like, however with that being said it didn't stop me from buying the second unit.

5 out of 5 stars Great for motorcycle touring on my sports/tourer   December 22, 2008
Mal (Illinois, USA)
Firstly I bought this as an additional aid when sport/touring on my Suzuki SV650S to be used in conjunction with a map on my tank bag.

My criteria was:

Waterproof
Battery powered and rechargeable (I did not want to run a 12v outlet)
Small (but still able to read easily)
Price

The re-manufactured Quest fit all these criteria.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. It Appears to be brand new except for the 'newly overhauled' sticker on the box.

This unit is no where near as easy to operate as my touch screen Garmin C330 in my truck and I suggest sitting down for a couple of hours just playing with it and you should become very conversant with its operation and features. It probably has scores more adjustable settings than is really required. For most users the default options will probably be all that is required. For battery operation on a motorcycle a few power saving options need to be set to maximize battery life between charging. I might also add that I have ALL sound turned off as I would not be able to hear it due to wind noise whilst riding and the speaker plugs into a 12v outlet which I dont have nor want on my bike.

This quest has basic interstates and highway for the whole US but if you require more detail like streets, names, POI, etc then you must have maps loaded into it. The number of maps you can add largely depends on if there are major cities which are larger. Here in the mid-west I was able to add 23 maps which covers the majority of the 4 states around my location which works for me.

I mounted it to my clipon handlebars using a RAM-B-149-GA15 / RAM U-BOLT MOUNT W/ GA15U HOLDER setup (customer image uploaded) from [...] for around[...]. It does give an adjustable and convenient motorcyle solution though which can easily be removed to stop theft.

Using it with gloved hands is not easy but I just put in the destination and of I go. I dont need to touch it after that.

Conclusion: I love it. Waterproof, lasts hours on a charge, nice and small but viewable especially with auto-zoom enabled and for [...] it does not really hurt the hip pocket. A great investment for a small price tag. Configuration and MapSource software is a little hard at first but within a couple of hours I found I was flying around the menus and software with ease. With all that said I would probably get a Quest II as my next purchase as there are no maps to download if you travel a lot.

4 out of 5 stars Quest review   October 16, 2008
G. Neuenfeldt (Denver, Co.)
I bought this as a replacement of my older Garmin V, and is primarily used on my motorcycles. I like the screens and functions of the Garmin V, and this unit is very similar, with notable differences of a color screen (although ever-so-slightly smaller than the V), automatic changes to a night vision screen, greater memory capacity, is more compact for ease of carry and has a really long built-in battery life. The Garmin V requires 4 AA batteries, and went though them pretty fast.
Thus far it's been functioning perfectly, and receives satellite signals faster than the V. My only complaint is I wish the screen was a little larger, similar to the Nuvi models Garmin makes.
