Motorcycle GPS July 27, 2010 Ron I've used this product for a couple of years. Garmin definitely makes the easiest to use motorcyle GPS. This unit does everything I need including playing MP3 music. So easy to use that I almost never use the built in satellite radio. The GPS is very user friendly, can't imagine going without. You can go for a ride anywhere and never have to worry about getting home. One improvement would be faster response times as sometimes in a city, you may pass your turn before the unit recognizes where you are. Have missed a few turns like that. The other down side is the group always wants you to lead.
Refurbished 450 Garmin June 7, 2010 N. Huddleston I purchased this product with the understanding that it was refurbished, but was as good as new. Well , the maps on it were out of date, never brought up to date when refurbished, so I then had to purchase updated maps which cost over $100.00 . So I you add cost of 450 Garmin plus cost of maps, I could have purchased NEW 550 Garmin same price.
Exactly what I wanted June 2, 2010 B. Hermsen (Wisconsin) I have been using the Garmin on my motorcycle for the last 2 years without issue. It has been through rain a few times over the 10,000+ that I have had it attached. I really like the route programming tool for the computer. It allows me to plan out my entire route before I leave to ensure I see new areas and stay in the country as much as I want. Hiway riding just isn't as fun.
Great GPSr September 24, 2009 A. A. Roeder (Omaha, NE USA) I have had my Zumo for about a year now, it has worked flawlessly. I enjoy riding remote back roads as well as highways and I have been pleasantly surprised that I have not yet found a "minimum maintenance" road that wasn't in the machine...I have always found my way home from all of my wanderings.
Thousands of happy miles of use, and on the rare occasion that I have dealt with Garmin technical help (switching from PC to Mac) their help has been quick, friendly, and accurate...I am very pleased.
One thing that I would change on my Zumo 450 is that I would make it Geocache friendly. I have to bring my Vista HCx along when Geocaching and motorcycling.
Good Basic Motorcycle GPS September 12, 2009 Vicki Aldeborgh (Boxford, MA) I have used my Zumo 450 in both the USA and Europe. It is easy to program and the database is fairly good in both locations. The unit is also rugged and waterproof and the mounting hardware is very solid.
The negatives are the feature-set is limited compared to the less expensive car GPS units. The battery life is not very good - a couple of hours at best on my motorcycle trip in Europe. I have also had one instance of the unit just locking up which is almost impossible to recover from with removing the battery - a major pain in the butt.
Would I but it again - yes - if the price was right versus other waterproof offerings.
